New information has come to light regarding the untimely demises of acclaimed film director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were located at their residence home on Sunday.

A Discovery

According to a report quoting a confidential source, a therapist scheduled for an appointment initially became concerned after failing to get inside the residence. The therapist then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides in the vicinity.

Upon entering the house, Romy came upon her father's body. Reports state she then fled the house in anguish, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. Her roommate who had accompanied her promptly called 911. Following this, emergency responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Charges

The police have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of premeditated murder, as well as the alleged use of a deadly weapon, reportedly a knife. He is currently being held without bail.

Correcting the Record

The confidential informant questioned several initial details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner informed first responders that her brother Nick resided in a guesthouse on the property, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that time.

The source also refuted widely reported notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "apprehensive" about Nick's actions in recent weeks. Instead the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

This correction includes accounts of alleged "unstable" behavior by Nick at a gathering thrown by Conan O'Brien on the night before the discovery. While the source stated they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they said that claims of a "major confrontation" between the two were inaccurate.

Investigation Timeline

According to law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had not yet established at that point whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Some accounts suggested the state of their bodies pointed to they had been deceased for a period of time.

Nick Reiner was apprehended at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the scene. He was due to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, indicated his client had not been medically cleared and would not be present until Wednesday at the earliest.
