In a bizarre collaboration that challenges usual expectations, the game developer has unveiled an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Questline Revealed

According to the official statement, "A mysterious encounter draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where hints of prohibited rituals and fearsome changes echo through the shadows." The storyline features a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a clandestine sect.

The adventure focuses on "bizarre experiments and a monstrous adversary" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Familiar Locations and Changes

The preview highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview ends with a dramatic sequence showing a character, likely the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Rewards and Bonus Content

Players who finish the mission will acquire an special katana together with multiple artifacts concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-based attire for Yasuke
• Mikasa costume for Naoe
• Exclusive weapons
• Survey Corps mount

Third Free Story Update

This update also brings the game's third no-cost story content, titled "The Mystery." This humorous mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic skills: Naoe introduces a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.
